Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 7 September 2026

These terms apply to every tuition programme provided by iChem Academy. By booking a place you accept them on your own behalf and, where the student is under 18, on behalf of that student. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

iChem Academy provides Chemistry examination performance programmes at GCSE and A-Level. All teaching is delivered by Islam Daoud, a qualified Science teacher. You can contact us at i.daoud@ichemacademy.co.uk.

2. What we provide

A programme is a continuing service, not a set number of lessons. Each programme includes:

Group programmes are capped at 5 students. Placement into a group is at our discretion and is based on fit — examination board, grade band, target and commitment. Where a group is not appropriate we will say so and recommend a 1-to-1 programme instead. We do not place a student into a group we do not believe suits them.

3. Consultation and trial lesson

Every enrolment begins with a free consultation. A written programme document follows the call, setting out the diagnosis, the recommended programme and the fee. A free trial lesson of 40 minutes is then offered. No payment details are taken before the trial lesson has taken place.

4. Fees

Fees are charged as a single monthly programme fee covering everything listed in clause 2. They are not a per-lesson charge and are not calculated by the hour.

ProgrammeContact timeMonthly fee
Group Mastery — GCSE2 hours weekly£260
Group Mastery — A-Level2 hours weekly£300
VIP 1-to-1 — GCSE1 hour weekly£300
VIP 1-to-1 — A-Level1 hour weekly£325
VIP 1-to-1 — A-Level2 hours weekly£560

Fees are payable in 12 equal monthly instalments by Direct Debit, on the same date each month, and are not discounted. Students who were quoted a rate on or before 28 August 2026 retain that rate for the duration of their programme.

Where a payment fails, we will tell you and ask you to settle it within 7 days. We may suspend teaching while a fee remains unpaid.

5. Scheduling, holidays and missed lessons

Lessons run every week of the year, including half terms and school holidays. There are no scheduled breaks.

6. Ending a programme

You may end a programme by giving one calendar month's written notice to i.daoud@ichemacademy.co.uk. Teaching continues and the fee remains payable during the notice period. Please also cancel your Direct Debit mandate with your bank once the final payment has been taken.

We may end a programme, with notice and a pro-rata refund of any fee paid for teaching not yet delivered, where a student is persistently absent, where homework is persistently not attempted, where conduct makes a group unworkable, or where fees remain unpaid.

7. Your right to cancel

Where you enrol at a distance, you have 14 days from the day you enrol to cancel and receive a full refund. If you ask us to begin teaching within that period, you agree we may start, and we may charge for the teaching already delivered if you then cancel.

8. The two-grade guarantee

The guarantee: follow the programme fully and jump two grades within 12 weeks, or receive 4 extra lessons free.

"Following the programme fully" means all of the following, across the 12-week period:

The starting grade is the grade recorded on the entry diagnostic. The closing grade is the grade achieved on the review assessment. Both are marked against the live mark scheme for the student's specification.

Where the conditions above are met and two grades are not achieved, we will provide 4 additional lessons at no charge. The guarantee entitles you to those additional lessons and does not entitle you to a refund of fees paid.

Tuition is a service, not a sale of results. Outside the specific commitment set out in this clause, we do not guarantee any particular examination outcome, and results depend on factors outside our control including the student's own effort, school provision and examination conditions.

9. Safeguarding and conduct

10. Materials and intellectual property

Lesson notes, question packs, programme documents, the iChem 3-Step Exam Thinking System™ and all other materials remain the property of iChem Academy. They are provided for the personal use of the enrolled student and must not be shared, resold, published or used to teach others.

Lessons are not recorded by us. Students and parents may not record, photograph or stream a session without our prior written permission.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with a programme is limited to the fees you have paid in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you enrolled.

We are not liable for failure to deliver a session caused by events outside our reasonable control. Where that happens the session is rescheduled or credited.

12. Data protection

We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Programme records — attendance, homework, assessment results and progress notes — are kept for as long as a student is enrolled and for a reasonable period afterwards.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects an enrolled student we will give at least one month's notice by email, and you may end the programme under clause 6 if you do not accept it.

14. Complaints and governing law

If something is wrong, email i.daoud@ichemacademy.co.uk and we will respond within 7 days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
